'GTA 6' to Blend Well with the Current and Next Generation Gaming Consoles

It has been long rumored since last year that the sixth installment to the very popular open world action-adventure “Grand Theft Auto” franchise will come out anytime from 2018 to 2020.

The year 2018 marks the fifth year from the time that the “Grand Theft Auto 5” was released on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC. The game eventually made it to the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 the following year.

Amid reports that the next generation gaming consoles from both Microsoft and Sony will also come out in 2018, reports now have it that developer Rockstar Games is working on the development of “GTA 6” to ensure that it will blend well not only with the current generation gaming consoles but the next ones as well.

This means that if and when the “GTA 6” comes out in 2018 or later, it will be playable not only in the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC but also in the upcoming Xbox Two and the PlayStation 5, reports The Christian Times.

With such goal in mind, Rockstar will apparently be using an advanced technology that would likely require better graphics and hardware performance from the consoles.

Thus, gamers can be sure that “GTA 6” would come out with an improved gaming experience in addition to rumors of new and bigger locations as well as new characters.

Possible game locations

The initial rumors about “GTA 6” location are that it shall have the entire US as its gameplay setting. Then, rumors about London being the new game setting started making the rounds on the internet.

There were also previous reports saying that Tokyo in Japan was also being considered for “GTA 6” setting but it was eventually dropped.

The Tokyo idea made it to the rumor mills because of the excellent transport system in the Japan capital, notes the Express of UK.

Latest reports indicate that Colombia in South America and the American state of Nevada will be the center of action in the upcoming video game.

However, all these reports are mere speculations at this time pending the confirmation or denial from Rockstar Games, which the game development company is unlikely to do so.

Female protagonist in the game is almost confirmed

What seems consistent among the rumors about “GTA 6” since it made the rounds immediately after the release of the much-awaited and long-delayed “Online Heists” in April last year, is that the game shall have a female protagonist.

The female protagonist shall reportedly be voiced by actress Eva Mendes. The rumors are also consistent that the male protagonist of the game shall be voiced by Ryan Gosling, who happens to be the partner of Eva Mendes in real life, making it a sort of close family affair.

Apparently, Gosling was chosen not because of Eva Mendes but because of his acting in “Drive” which showed some kind of semblance to the game.

There are also reports that if and when the game comes out anytime from 2018 to 2020, it shall already provide VR support which shall elevate its excitement all the more.

There have also been reports that Rockstar Games may already be deep in development of “GTA 6” but others are saying that the developer would be able to do that once it is through with the open world Western action-adventure video game “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

It is possible that “Red Dead Redemption 2” would be officially launched by the game developer at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in June and make it to the retail markets before the end of the year.

With that being said, it is likely that Rockstar can be able to focus on the development of “GTA 6” either later this year or early next year.

Among the latest rumors about the upcoming sixth installment of “GTA” is that it will feature more aerial missions and more weapons choices.
